Corporate Institute of Horticulture is an Agriculture Vocational and Education Training Centre specialized in Horticulture Training, Research and Consultancy. Established to bridge the technical knowledge gap in horticulture development that will transform the country, continent and make its rural areas food secure and poverty free. Its core business provides cutting-edge solutions through working with a wide range of clients.

We have a unique blend of skills in setting up and managing a horticulture business as crucial components of the training. Corporate Institute of Horticulture seeks to build partnerships with financing institutions who are willing to offer financial support to our graduate start-ups.

Corporate Institute of Horticulture

Is a registered limited company established at the crossroad of the country's increasing demand for professional skills needed to support the increasing interest in horticulture investment in the country. CIH has its offices located at Salima Boma with its training centre situated at Chikumba village in TA Kalonga, Salima district, about 15 kilometer's from Salima Boma following Nkhotakota Road and just about 150 meters of Salima-Nkhotakota Road going to the East. The company intends to establish a state of the art training centre where technologies for improved horticulture production will be taught and demonstrated. The company’s trainings are ATVET and CBTA fashioned based aimed at skill development.

Our Objectives

To impart knowledge and skills to the youth and women of malawi through access to formal and non-formal training in the horticulture food sector.

To conduct consultancy in different fields of horticulture such as farm audits, value chain analysis, business feasibility studies just to mention a few.

To conduct on farm demand driven research in order to generate technologies that will contribute to improved production of horticulture crops in the country.

To enhance food security and the economy of the country through widespread production of improved crop varieties, value addition marketing and increased consumption of preferred, high quality and nutrient dense horticulture crops and their products.

To promote youth and women's driving role in the horticultural production processing and trade.


Our Business Model

We seek to offer a complete value chain based business model that provide solutions across horticulture value chains. After training, our graduates implement their business plans in groups or as individuals. CIH goes beyond training to support ground establishment of their horticultural enterprises through equipment and input support as well as providing Business Development Services for viable business growth. The relationship ends by CIH signing market contracts as an immediate off-taker of all produce produced by its graduates which is sold in CIH’s market outlets.
